Nothing is equivalent to knowledge

Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal 241 AH said:

العلم لا يعدله شيئ لمن صحت نيته

“There is nothing equivalent to knowledge for the one who rectifies his intention.”

So his students asked, “O Abu Abdillah, how can one rectify his intention? He responded,

ينوي رفع الجهل عن نفسه و عن غيره

“By intending to lift ignorance from himself and those around him”

[Adaab Shar’eeyah of Ibn Muflih 2/45]
