What are the best methods in attaining beneficial knowledge?

Question: What are the best means in order to attain beneficial knowledge?

Answer: There are many different means in attaining knowledge, and all praises are due to Allah. From our present time is to:

1. Obtain knowledge from a shaykh who is followed for his knowledge and religion. This is the best and strongest means.

2. Obtain knowledge from authored books by the scholars who are trustworthy in their knowledge and religion.

3. Listen to tapes from scholars who are trustworthy in their knowledge and honesty.

These are three ways in which knowledge can be obtained, and the most important thing is to be hardworking, persistent, and have a good intention. For indeed, that is from the greatest causes of attaining knowledge.
