Following the Sunnah is better than preforming many actions

By Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-’Uthaymeen may Allah have mercy on him

The shaykh mentions this benefit in his explanation of “Mumti'” 1/407:

If someone wanted to elongate the recitation, bowing, and prostration for the two sunnah units of Fajr, then we say that this opposes the sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) because he would always shorten it.
