In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful
The reason why we make ghusl after sexual intercourse
By Shaykh Abdullah bin Abdir-Rahman Aali Bassaam may Allah have mercy on him
The shaykh mentions this point of benefit in his book “Tayseerul Allaam” which is an explanation to ‘Umdatul Ahkaam. He says under the chapter: “al-Ghusl minal Janaabah”,
“…(man) attains, after the fluid exits him, fatigue, tiredness, laxity, and laziness. The mind becomes sluggish and there is a stoppage in circulation of blood. It is from the mercy of the Most Wise, All-Knowing (that) He has legislated this ghusl (shower). The (ghusl) returns strength back to his body, and the movement of his blood in his body is energized. So he returns to being energetic once again.
And how many things has Allah legislated from (His) wisdom (but the wisdom) is hidden (from us)!! May Allah give us success to understand and act upon His commandments.”
