    • Wa alaykumus salaam,

      Allaah, the Most High, said:

Say, “Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm?” [az-Zumar 39:38]

‘Imraan b. Husayn (radiyallaahu ‘anhu) narrated that Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) saw a man with wearing a brass ring. So he asked him:

      “What is this?”
      He responded:

“A protection from an illness that weakens.”
So the Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam) said:

“Remove it, for it will not increase you except in weakness. Indeed if you were to die whilst wearing it, you would never prosper.”
      Reported by Ahmad

From this ayah and hadith we benefit that it is haraam to seek protection in something other than Allah. A silver ring is a silver ring and cannot protect you from anything. Turn back to Allah alone because He is the only One could can protect you, wallahu alim.
