Abdul ‘Ala at-Taymee said,

من أوتي من العلم ما لا يبكيه لخليق أن لا يكون أوتي علما ينفعه.لأن الله نعت العلماء. و قرأ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦۤ الي قوله يَبۡكُونَ وَيَزِيدُهُمۡ خُشُوعً۬ا

سورة الاسراء 107-109

“Whoever is given knowledge that doesn’t cause him to cry, then it is appropriate (to say) that his knowledge does not benefit him. Because Allah described the scholars as (then he recited the verses),

“Verily! those who were given knowledge before, when it is recited to them, fall down on their faces in humble prostration.” up until

“And they fall down on their faces weeping and it increases their humility.” [Surah Israa 107-109]
