We have provided both the Arabic wording of the hadith and also a transliteration of the ad’iyah to make it easier for memorization. If there are any mistakes please inform us as soon as possible. 1. By making Tahlil, Takbir, and Hawqalah
“There is not anyone upon the earth who says: ‘*None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might nor power except by Allah,’ except that his sins shall be pardoned, even if they were like the foam of the sea.” [Tirmidhi-graded Hasan by al-Albani in Sahih Jaami’ 5636]
2. After you eat
“If anyone eats food and then says: ‘*Praise be to Allah Who has fed me with this food and provided me with it through no might and power on my part,’ he will be forgiven his former and later sins…’” [Abu Dawud- graded Hasan by al-Albani in Sahih Jaami’ 6086]
*Alhamdulillah al-ladhi At’amanee hadhaa at-Ta’aam wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minnee wa laa quwatin
3. After you put on your clothes
“If anyone puts on a garment and says: ‘*Praise be to Allah Who has clothed me with this and provided me with it through no might and power on my part,’ he will be forgiven his former and later sins.” [Same hadith as no 2]
*Alhamdulillah al-ladhi kasaanee hadha ath-Tawb wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minni wa laa quwatin
4. After your prayer
“If anyone glorifies Allah (saying Subhanallah) after every prayer thirty-three times, and praises Allah (alhamdulillah) thirty-three times, and declares His Greatness (Allahu Akbar) thirty-three times, ninety-nine times in all, and says to complete a hundred: ‘*There is nothing worthy of worship but Allah, having no partner with Him, to Him belongs sovereignty and to Him is praise due, and He is Potent over everything,’ his sins will be forgiven even If these are as abundant as the foam of the sea.” [Muslim 597]
*Laa ilaha ill Allah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu lahul mulk wa lahul hamd wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer
5. During your day
“He who utters: ‘*Glory be to Allah who is free from all imperfections, and all praise is due to Him,’ one hundred times a day, his sins are obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.” [Muslim 2691]
*Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi
6. Before you sleep
“Whoever says, when he goes to his bed: ‘*I seek forgiveness from Allah, [the Magnificent] the One whom there is none worthy of worship except for Him, the Living, the Sustainer, and I repent to Him’ three times, Allah shall forgive him his sins if they were like the foam of the sea, even if they were the number of leaves of the trees, even if they were the number of sand particles of `Alij, even if they were the number of the days of the world.” [Sahih Targheeb 607]
7. After the adhaan
“If anyone says on hearing the Mu’adhdhin: ‘*I testify that there is nothing worthy of worship but Allah alone. Who has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Messenger, (and that) I am satisfied with Allah as my Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger. and with Islam as the way of life,’ his sins would be forgiven.” [Muslim 386]
8. With your Istighfaar
“He who says: ‘*I seek the forgiveness of Allah, there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self- Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance),’ his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged in fighting for the Cause of Allah).” [Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and graded sahih by al-Albaani]
