In the name of Allah the Most Gracious the Most Merciful

The shaykh mentions this point of benefit in his explanation of “Sharhus Sunnah” under the 110th point:

The second foundational sect: The Qadariyah

They are the ones who deny the Qadr (Divine Decree), and they appeared during the end of the time of the companions. They are of two categories:

First: Qadariyah Jabriyah

They were extreme in affirming the Qadr.

Second: Qadariyah Nufaah

They denied the Qadr. They were the Mu’tazilah and those who transverse in their steps. They said that the slave created his actions and not Allah. It was only the slave who created his actions.

The Jabriyah say: actions of the slave are the actions of Allah, and the slave is forced to speak and act. They do not have any choice (no free will).

The Mu’tazilah say: the slaves have complete choice and deny Qadr.

So the Jabriyah affirm Qadr and go to the extreme that the slave is forced to do their deeds.

And the Mu’tazilah go to the other extreme by negating the Qadr and say everything is dependent upon it.

This sect is broken up into many more sects.
